Windows 7 is an operating system developed by Microsoft following Windows Vista. The development process of Windows 7 incorporated lessons learned from the criticisms and performance issues of Vista. This release aimed to enhance the user experience by improving some of the negative features of Vista while introducing a range of new features and improvements.

Windows 7 had lower system requirements and operated more efficiently than Vista. This improvement enabled users to experience better performance, especially on older computers. Additionally, Windows 7 introduced significant enhancements in startup and shutdown times. Windows 7 also comes with an improved Aero style user interface. It was officially released on October 22, 2009.

Social networks exploded during this era, with Facebook surpassing 500 million users by 2010. The integration of social media widgets, like sharing buttons and embedded comments, became common features on most websites.
Real-time communication platforms such as Twitter and emerging technologies like WebSockets enabled instant updates, making the web more interactive and time-sensitive.

The Rise of Web Standards:

HTML5 and CSS3 were emerging technologies during this time, setting the stage for future advancements in web design and interactivity. Though not fully implemented until later, these standards started to replace older technologies like Flash, which had been a dominant tool for multimedia content.
